You are able to relocate the socket plug to an area that protects it from Damage, Rain, Weather, etc.
The wires from the socket will need to be spliced and lengthen to reconnect to solenoid. The wires used must be the same gauge as the factory supplied wires.
The hole is the Solenoid Cover must be covered to protect rain and water from entering the solenoid area.

It must use the same size diameter 2 gauge wire cable to connect the solenoid back to the winch.
