How to us a Pulley Block

Below is a slide giving a very high-level overview how a pulley block can be used to increase the pull force of a winch.

The setup here is a vehicle pulling itself from a stuck position by attaching to a tree (or other suitable anchor point).

The winches wire rope will go through the pulley block and then you attach the winch hook to either the vehicle itself (at a suitable anchor point) or to another tree or suitable anchor point.
