KWSL2000RM Winch Drum Screw:
This KTSL2000RM is one of our noisiest winches, it does make noise when in use. And depending on how the consumer has it mounted or using it, the mounting vibrations can add to the noise level. Example attached.
Power in issue?
- Check if the winch is making any noise or motor clicking.
- If motor is running, make sure the knob is tight to lock the clutch used to pull the cable in. If the knob is not fully tighten on the threaded shaft this would not give the manual handle the room to fit on the shaft.
- Make sure battery is fully charged and has good connections with the winch
- Has the control handle been dropped or shows any signs of damage?
- Check the Control Handle and the Plug on the winch for any damage to the plug or pins.
- This winch has an internal “Automatic Reset Circuit Protector”, was the winch being used and then stopped and no longer works or makes any noise.
- If the winch was being used and stopped the circuit breaker could have tripped and did not automatically reset.
- Again, check the power cord and controller plug and the plug connections on the winch for any damage and make sure they have good connections
The KTSL2000RM was design for the boat trailer application. In some cases this winch will bolt right were your standard manual boat winch is mounted, the mounting base should be flat and not tilting the winch up. Because of all the different types of boats and boat trailer applications you can Google search like shown below or possibly modify your current winch stand to fit this winch. Note if your boat bow eye comes in above or below the bow roller on your trailer when picking a winch post.
