KT4000 Winch

The Keeper KT4000 Electric Winch is designed with tough terrain and off-roading situations in mind. This unit provides power, versatility, and durability that is essential for all UTV/ATV users, trailers and even portable winch applications. The winch features a 2.2 HP 12V DC permanent magnet motor, mechanical and dynamic full load brake and a 4,000 lbs. single line pull rating. Equipped with a cam activated free-spool clutch that allows the user to easily and quickly disengage the drum and withdraw as much rope as needed. It also includes 3-stage, full-metal planetary gear train, case-hardened gears, mounting plate and a handlebar mounted mini rocker switch w/ mounting bracket for ease of removal and use as a handheld remote, load doubling pulley block, flatbed mounting plate, and a handheld power in/out switch with LED work light making this a truly all-purpose winch.

Solenoid KTA14113-1 notes:

Our KT2500, KT3000, and KT4000 has a solenoid that requires remote mounting as shown in the owner’s manual picture below. The solenoid is not mounted to the winch.

Winch stops working but hear a clicking noise follow these steps:

• Provide a photo of how the solenoid is mounted
• Double check all the electrical connections and make sure the connections are clean and tight.
• Please double check the battery is fully charged and supplying the amps to the winch, test light can show voltage is getting to the winch, but it is the amperage that turns the motor.
• The customers description that the winch sometimes clicks is generally a solenoid, bad electrical connections or battery not suppling the amps to the winch, battery could need charging.
• Try jumping with another battery just to make sure, this sometime will help to overcome a bad connection limiting amperage getting to the winch.  Sometimes you can hear or see a spark that will show a bad electrical connection.
